Hello from Montana

I’m Emily, and I'm so glad you're taking the time to get to know me.

Learn more about me by downloading and reading my adoption profile book. As you look through my book, I hope you'll be able to envision what your child's life might look like with me as I help them understand their story and grow to become whoever they dream to be.

I've always wanted to raise children and adoption has been a way to have a family that I have been thinking about for several years. I envision an open adoption where there is communication between us to whatever degree you are comfortable, and I look forward to getting to know you as well.

I was raised in Iowa but moved to Montana in 2013 and I'm so lucky to live here. The mountains are beautiful, the rivers have great fishing, and we have so many outdoor activities that I can't wait to share with a little one.

As a parent I hope to cultivate a safe, loving home where your child is loved and loves others.

ABOUT ME

I work in medicine which has been my dream from childhood.

I've always enjoyed science and people, so I love that I'm able to combine these in my day to day life. Each day I spend time with people who trust me with their health, their minds, and their bodies and it's so incredible to get this honor. I work with newborns all the way to people at the end of their lives on hospice care or in a nursing home. I enjoy getting to have a relationship with patients and their families, it's the best part of my job!

Outside of work, I love exploring Montana - spending time camping, hiking, and fly fishing. I'm still a beginner fly fisherwoman (my hook gets caught in more trees than I would like!) but it's so exciting when I do catch a fish! Most of my outdoor adventures are with my best friend's family and it's been fun to watch her children experience the hobbies I enjoy. I can't wait to share those with a child of my own. I also enjoy crocheting. I have made some baby blankets for friends and hope to make one for my own child too.

Living in Montana, I am able to visit Yellowstone and Glacier National Parks every year — places I used to dream about visiting as a child. I get to watch Old Faithful erupt and enjoy the wildlife, like bison, wolves, elk, bears, all from a safe distance!

HOME SWEET HOME

I live in Montana so it could snow almost every day of the year - winter can be long but summer is gorgeous.

I live in a nice neighborhood where lots of the families have kids. It's just outside of town. We have a really great local theater that puts on plays throughout the year, a farmer's market during the summer, and so many trails to hike just minutes from my home. The county fair is also a great summer activity, seeing the farm animals, riding a few rides, and eating funnel cake - my favorite fair food!

My house has a big master bedroom - plenty of room to put a bassinet and crib and I have a extra bedroom that I'm so excited to decorate for a little one. I have a fenced backyard with plenty of space to make a snowman or play catch one day.

MY LOVED ONES

All of my family lives in Iowa but I have friends, who have become family, here in Montana too.

All of my family lives in Iowa. My parents are some of the best grandparents out there. My niece and nephews love spending time with Grandma and Grandpa! Even though we won't live close by them, they will be very involved in our lives. My parents live on a small acreage and often raise pigs. The pigs are always such fun - they love to have treats like apples, right from your hand, and they appreciate a good scratch behind their ears - they are one of the highlights of a trip to Iowa!

I've also got a family in Montana. It started out with Sarah as my coworker in the clinic and has turned into us becoming best friends, and now like sisters. Her family includes me for holidays, birthdays, and just for fun. It's awesome to have another extended family that has taken me in especially when I'm not able to travel back to Iowa for the holidays.
