Thank you for taking some time to learn a little bit about me, and thank you for your courageous, loving decision to choose adoption for your precious baby.
I can only imagine how tender that choice has been for you. My decision to become a single mom has been a tender one as well.
I’ve wanted to be a mother my whole life and have always considered adoption. I hadn’t envisioned I would be adopting as a single mother, so I took time to carefully search my heart. Because cultivating a loving family has been my greatest dream and because I feel confident in my extraordinary capacity to love, to provide security, and to offer a wide world of possibility to a child, I am excited to become an adoptive mother. When I imagine welcoming a baby into my life, my eyes fill with tears of gratitude. I have a renewed vision of motherhood now!
THE HEART OF WHO I AM
I believe in the power of Loving kindness. I live with integrity and I do my best to do good in the world every day.
I am dedicated to my own wellness and to helping people heal. I love to learn and will always pursue personal growth. I am committed to fostering healthy relationships through self-awareness and constructive communication.
I have benefited from the privilege of an excellent education. In addition to a master’s degree, I have a professional diploma from a four-year energy healing school. My work as an energy healer and a counselor in private practice is deeply gratifying. I served on the board of a charitable foundation for years and continue to support to numerous charities. My philanthropy focuses primarily on animal rescue, from pets to farmed animals to wildlife. Early in my career, I was lucky to work with kids: teens in the Big Brothers/Big Sisters program, preschoolers at Head Start, and babies on a bone marrow transplant unit.
Raising my child will be my top priority!
THE PEOPLE I LOVE
I am so fortunate to have many bright, kind, creative people in my life.
I am close with my younger brother and his wonderful wife who just had a beautiful baby boy. They are a warm, smart, funny, adventurous couple who keep life dynamic and creative. I can’t wait to introduce my little nephew to a new cousin!
I remain close with my ex-husband’s adult son who lives in Europe. He calls me his second mom and is so supportive of my hope to adopt a baby. The last time he visited for the holidays, he left a note on the dry-erase board in my office before I took him to the airport: “Best Mom Ever.” He might as well have used a permanent marker, because I’ll never erase that message!
HOME SWEET HOME
My house is tucked away at the end of a quiet street, so there is no traffic… only the comings and goings of a handful of friendly neighbors.
My neighborhood is ideal for families…safe, located near excellent schools, and full of sidewalks, green spaces, and trees. Everyone is out walking with children and dogs in the mornings and evenings. Birds, bunnies, and deer explore my yard every day!
The area where I live has an abundance of nature trails for outdoor exploration. My town is located two and a half hours from the beach and three hours from the mountains, so there are lots of options for weekend adventures. My area also has an abundance of cultural activities from museums and performing arts to professional sports. Life here offers the friendly pace of a small town with the diverse cultural opportunities of a city. The best of both worlds!
