I’m a single, African-American woman living in Charlotte, NC.
I’ve been blessed with a big family and a successful career practicing law, prioritizing home ownership, economic responsibility and long term planning for a future that has always envisioned children. I have thoughtfully built a life full of love, fun, friends, family, work, and travel. And, I want to adopt a child so that they can join and share in the benefits of the joyful life I've built.
MY HOME
Living in Charlotte, NC AFFORDS ME ACCESS TO BOTH RESOURCES OF A BIG CITY AND THE FAMILY SUPPORT OF A SUBURBAN NEIGHBORHOOD.
I have lived in a three-story townhouse for almost 15 years, in a neighborhood of other townhomes and single family homes. My home is close to a local university and a large hospital, and there are plenty of parks, playgrounds, pools, churches and schools nearby. There is a pool in the neighborhood, and the home owner's association often hosts pool parties in the warmer months, as well as movie nights, block parties and food trucks throughout the year.

MY VILLAGE
I am so grateful for the support of family and friends who will be our village!
Most of my family lives just a few hours away in Georgia, and my sister is thrilled she will be an aunt for the first time! My seven nieces and nephews are my favorite people in the world, and I love watching each of them become their own person. Additionally, my family is originally from Barbados, and I travel there frequently to visit extended family, soak up Bajan culture and frolic on the beach!
I also have a tight-knit circle of friends – my "sweat & tears" brothers and sisters - who all live nearby and are excited to go on this journey with me. There will be plenty of male and female role models to love and cherish your child! Plus, many of my close friends have children of their own, who already look forward to having a new playmate. I enjoy traveling to visit friends who may live farther away, and look forward to taking a child to different places, gaining new experiences and perspectives, and building emotional intelligence about other cultures.
