Our lives have been blessed by adoption with the birth of our son 4 years ago. We would love to be parents again, to add to and complete our family and our son is looking forward to being a big brother.
We know from experience how incredible adoption is but we also know it can be a confusing and difficult time for you while you are figuring out what’s best for you and your baby. We met 10 years ago through an online dating site. We were a 98% match!
Before our second date, Sarah broke her ankle ice skating and had surgery. While she was apartment bound for months, Dan would call almost daily and we’d talk for hours. By the time we had our second date, our friendship had grown into a really deep and meaningful relationship. We married 2 years after we met.
We spent a lot of time discussing our future and our hope to become parents. Both adopted and biological children were always part of our family plan. We started our IVF journey shortly before marriage. After 4 unsuccessful treatments, we decided to stop and instead pursue our dreams of moving to a new city, buying a home and focusing solely on becoming parents through adoption.
OUR LIFE TOGETHER
We have a great friendship, mutual respect and lots of laughter and love.
We are each other’s biggest cheerleaders! We take part in each other’s interests, discuss everything, often spending hours getting lost in conversation with one another. We believe the best relationships are the ones when both people feel like they are the lucky ones and each of us will tell you “It’s me!” every day.
We parent as a team and provide consistency. We both reward and discipline with time out’s/time-in’s and we work hard to make sure Gabe has enough family time with both of us and time alone with each of us. We both do chores, homework and fun things with him.

OUR HOME AND LOVING COMMUNITY
We were neighbors with Sarah’s mom for several years but our dream was for our family to all be under one roof and in a more diverse community. We were fortunate to find and purchase our dream home last year and adding grandma to our home has been an amazing experience for us and our son. Gabriel spends every Saturday night with grandma crafting and watching movies.
Dan’s parents, “Nani” and “Papa”, visit often and we video chat twice a week. They love to send cards, gifts and be involved in our day-to-day life. Papa always makes Gabriel his favorite cookies and Nani is always planning the next visit or present. Dan’s brother recently moved closer and visited for Gabe’s 4th birthday.
The pandemic has made it difficult to visit family but we manage to stay connected. We have a weekly video chat with Dan’s extended family. Sarah’s nephew, sister, cousins and their kids also video chat frequently and exchange gifts.
Our community is full of friends who are like family and come over for meals or playdates often.

About Dan
Dan works from home and is a manager of IT operations. He is incredibly hard-working but knows the value of work-life balance.
Every day he does small things to take care of us all. He manages carpool, bath time, goes to every practice and game, helps with homework and takes our son on almost daily bike rides or trips to the park.
He’s is a very active and involved dad who is patient, silly, considerate but also helps teach manners and boundaries to our son.
About Sarah
Sarah has been a stay-at-home mom since Gabriel was born and watching her play with Gabe is seeing her at her happiest.
Sarah has one the biggest hearts of anyone I’ve ever met and makes every day special.
Her focus is always on the people she loves, her family and friends, and she’s always ready to listen, give advice or make us laugh.
MEET HOPEFUL BIG BROTHER
Our son, Gabriel, is 4 years old. Watching him grow, change and learn every day has been the most amazing part of our lives. Gabe loves Pre-K, asks a thousand questions a day and is currently learning to read and write. He loves music and dancing, science projects, painting and coloring and has a wonderful imagination. He wants so badly to be a big brother and would be such an incredible one!
BLACK LIFE AND CULTURE
We are trying to raise Gabriel with strong genuine connections to his Black culture, history and community. Even though he is growing up in a white home, we make sure that his life is Black affirming and does not take place in all-white spaces. Our hope is that our children are their best, confident, selves and have a strong sense of identity and cultural pride.
