OUR HOME

is a happy, safe place filled with laughter, joy, curiosity, and delicious food.

We live in a city in Maine in a cute Dutch Colonial house with a fenced-in yard on a dead-end street where children play all afternoon. Our neighborhood is filled with families who take pride in their homes and truly enjoy being part of the community. Our home is in a district with a diverse elementary school and a caring, supportive staff. Your child will grow up on a street with other adopted children. Three other families on our block were lucky to adopt their children.

A FEW PERKS OF WHERE WE LIVE:

  • A few blocks away is a lovely park with a pond, a playground, a small corner store, and a few restaurants.

  • We are just a ten-minute drive from the city center.

  • Our home is always filled with the smell of Rosie’s delicious cooking and baking.

  • The ocean is a mile away, and ski mountains are just 45 minutes from our house.

SUMMER IS A SPECIAL SEASON IN OUR FAMILY:

Your child will grow up knowing how sweet lobster tastes when cooked in ocean water over a bonfire, the joy of fresh corn roasted over an open flame, and will giggle while throwing cleaned seafood shells back into the ocean to help new sea creatures build their homes.

Lucas' parents

OUR LOVED ONES

Both sets of grandparents, aunts, uncles, nieces, and all of our friends are so excited to welcome your child into their lives.

Lucas’ dad is a former computer chip engineer who has microscopes and loves doing experiments with his grandkids, and his mom will teach your child how to ice skate and balance a checkbook.

Rosie’s dad is a heart surgeon who will help your child explore nature, travel the world, and play any sport they’re interested in. Her mom is a brilliant storyteller who will love your child deeply and delight in every word they say, and she’ll introduce them to theater, great food, music, and her dogs. Our nieces are excited to have a cousin to play with on their organic farm.

FAMILY TRADITIONS:

  • We spend time each summer on the coast of Maine sailing, playing in the sand, and exploring the ocean.

  • We celebrate Memorial Day, the Fourth of July, Labor Day, and Thanksgiving at Lucas’ parents’ home with his parents, sister, brother-in-law, our nieces, and lots of extended family.

  • We spend Jewish holidays enjoying delicious food with Rosie’s parents, brother, and a large circle of friends.

IN CLOSING

Thank you for considering us. We promise to love your child unconditionally.

Your child will be raised to value community, communication, thoughtfulness, hard work, and joy. We would be honored to share updates or visits, or to respect your wishes around contact. We will make sure your child feels connected to your culture and their past. We hope you will see us as a family who can offer your child a loving life on the coast of Maine.
