Hi! Rachel and Tom

We’re hoping to adopt!

Learn more about us by downloading and reading our adoption profile book.

Thank you so much for taking the time to check out our profile! We have been looking forward to adopting a child for nearly a decade.

It's so exciting to finally begin this journey! We understand that every situation is different, and are committed to doing whatever is best for you and your child. We bought a house four years ago in Washington State, in a great new neighborhood with an expansive community and wonderful neighbors. Both of us absolutely adore the incredible greenery; it's such a striking difference from Phoenix, where both of us are from originally. We are excited to be parents; to help guide and support a child, introduce them to things we are both very passionate about while exploring their own interests as well. We are excited to take our child on hikes, explore new places, listen to new music, learn new and interesting things about the world, and just enjoy what life has to offer together! Thank you very much for taking the time to read about us.

We look forward to getting to know you and hearing about what makes you happy too!

OUR STORY

we met in college  and have been inseparable since.

On our first date we lost track of time, we accidentally stayed on the date for 8 hours! We both have a very dry sense of humor and love to laugh with each other. Both of us are deeply committed and honest and open with each other, and that has allowed our relationship to thrive over the years.

OUR HOME

We live in a growing community community in western Washington, about an hour away from larger cities such as Tacoma and Seattle.

This affords the best of both worlds – we are able to live in a nice, quiet community while still being close enough that a trip into the city by car or train is easily accessible. Our community has installed dozens of playgrounds, skate parks, and other small event locations to provide venues for activities, as well as a club house area where they regularly hold events for holidays such as the 4th of July. We are also lucky enough to have 2 elementary schools immediately in our neighborhood, about a 10 minute walk from the house.

Another wonderful element of being removed from the hustle and bustle of the larger cities is we are surrounded by nature. Our community is committed to maintaining forest trails that run through our neighborhoods, and we are about 50 minutes away from Mt. Rainier. We experience all four seasons, with fairly mild winters, summers, and the most beautiful fall colors. To top it off, we are only a couple hours from the beach, which makes for a great day or weekend trip.

OUR FAMILIES

Our extended family is small but mighty, and encompasses both friends and family – specifically Rachel’s parents and little brother, and our best friends Lyle and Sierra (who would also be godparents).

Since we live in different states, we have always been committed to finding ways to spend time with one another. We typically have semi-annual trips to visit one another, mostly around holidays and birthdays. We also have family Mario Kart night, where we all get on a call and play Mario Kart together online, which is always a good time.

Our family may be small, but it isn’t lacking in love and laughs in the least.
