Early on in our relationship, we both expressed to each other that we desired to have a family one day. While we gain fulfillment and joy through our careers, as well as through our passion for building a healthy and vibrant community in our neighborhood, we know that raising children is part of the fulfillment we ultimately desire.
We are committed to providing a safe, supportive, and loving home. A baby will be surrounded by family that lives close-by, and an even larger friend group that consists of relationships that have lasted decades.
We will love and celebrate whatever background they may come from, and make sure they know their story through a relationship with you, if you feel comfortable, as well as ensuring they have access to people and resources who can support them however they need.
OUR STORY
We met online in the fall of 2013.
Both of us didn't have many expectations as we had been on many coffee dates before, but after 5 hours together, including a walk along Lake Michigan on a cold December evening, we knew we wanted to see each other again.
While our personalities are a bit opposite, we embrace who the other person is wholeheartedly and never expect the other to be someone they aren't. Nine years later, we are even more committed to each other and our future family.

OUR HOME AND FAMILIES
We live in Chicago, IL on the North Side of the city, only 2 blocks from Lake Michigan. With our home being in a prime location for access to parks and waterfront, community centers, and restaurants and shops, we are excited to raise a child in a vibrant and welcoming community. Our home has space for a child to play and grow, and there are many other children in our condo building and on the block who are always looking for new friends to play with.
Our home is filled with laughter, love, play, and lots of - food.
Steve's parents rent a beach home in Michigan every summer for a week for the entire family to gather, spend time outdoors swimming, picking berries, bonfires, grilling, hiking, and more.
While Michael comes from a much smaller family that is spread across the country, they all make sure to all be together multiple times a year. Michael's brother, sister-in-law, and 2-year old nephew live in Denver, and his parents live in South Florida. Christmas is spent in Florida, summers are in Chicago, and winter skiing is in Colorado.
A baby will get to experience all of our families fun traditions and will give us an excuse to create new ones with them.

Perfect Day: Coffee and physical activity, exploring a different part of Chicago, Mediterranean dinner, and live music.
