We are an active couple in the suburbs of Chicago. We’ve been together for 10 years.
We have always talked about adopting children, and once we ran into fertility issues, we knew it was the right path for us. After 6 years of marriage, our bond has continued to grow and we are now so excited to be expanding our family. We would love the opportunity to become parents.
ABOUT US
We met at a local pizza pub ON trivia night in 2012.
Billy wandered in solo, but was invited by Laura’s team to play. After Billy answered his third geography question correctly, Laura fell in love.
We started dating shortly after meeting. Despite being very different in personality, it was clear that we shared a similar family background and “life-philosophy”. We were interested in a lot of the same things and had a lot to talk about right away.
We maintained a long-distance relationship while Billy worked abroad in Switzerland in 2013. After Billy returned from Switzerland, we moved in together before getting married and buying a house in 2015.
During the spring, summer and fall, we are outside as much as we can be. In the winter we travel, but we also love to cozy up by the fire and have friends over for games and movies.
OUR HOME AND FAMILIES
We live in a suburb of Chicago near a forest preserve on Lake Michigan. Our home is in a quiet neighborhood a block from the park with a playground, soccer field, basketball and tennis court. We can swim in the lake, but the water is usually chilly! We love the area because we have amazing access to nature– forest preserves, walk/bike trails and parks are everywhere!
We have two cats – Pokey and Lunchpail. Pokey (the orange one) loves to play, while Lunchpail loves to eat. They are both very friendly, especially Lunchpail, who loves to play with Laura sister’s dog, Butters. Whenever we travel, they try to sneak into out suitcases!
We love our family. Billy grew up in Tennessee and Laura grew up in the Chicago suburbs.
We each have a brother and a sister. Laura is the oldest and Billy is the middle child.
Laura’s sister lives in Chicago with her husband, while her brother lives in Los Angeles with his partner. Laura’s mother (future Grandma!) lives about 40 minutes away from us and works nearby, so we get to see her all the time. Whenever we get together with Laura’s family, everyone has a crazy fun time.
Billy’s brother lives in Austin, TX and his sister lives in Nashville with her husband and their two kids. Billy’s parents have been married for 45 years(!) and live in Chattanooga, TN, we get to see them all the time and take turns traveling to each other.
Family trips are the best- we love to all get together in a remote place, usually by a lake, and spend a lot of quality time swimming, eating and exploring.
