We hope by reading this you can get to know us a little better and feel the support that we are able to offer you and your baby. We are a fun and loving couple residing in Washington State with our pets. We love each other and the life we have built together, and we are ready to open our home and family to a baby.
We have been discussing adoption since we first start talking about building our family in 2016.
Gerrett has first-hand experience with adoption, being adopted himself and adopting his step-son, Carson. From Gerrett’s own experience, adoption means love, support, and guidance: Gerrett’s father taught him about hard work, business, and perseverance and Gerrett helped to provide Carson with love, stability, and opportunity as he grew into the young man that he is now.
ABOUT US
We first met on a dating app and quickly fell in love and bonded over our shared interests - exploring the world, finding fun in everything we do, and working hard so we can do it all.
Some of our first dates included going to the zoo, bike riding, and even flying to Vegas for a weekend. When the time felt right, Gerrett surprised Jackie with an engagement party filled with family and friends. We later eloped in San Antonio, Texas. As we started our life together, we also bonded over having similar childhood experiences of growing up in loving families that struggled financially. These experiences have motivated us to work hard and dream big as we live our lives and build our family. We also will encourage our children to dream big and provide them with as many opportunities as possible!

ABOUT GERRETT BY JACKIE
Gerrett is brave, funny, and caring. He makes me laugh every day. When I first met Gerrett, he was a young widow (having lost his first wife to breast cancer) and a single dad to his teenage son. I was immediately drawn to his zest for life and commitment to putting family and friends first. I see Gerrett being very involved in our child’s life – being the go-to “play” parent, taking pride in teaching our child practical skills (like cooking and fixing/building things), and planning trips and activities to expand their interests, skills, and life experiences.
Gerrett is a successful entrepreneur who owns his own manufacturing business. Despite his busy schedule, Gerrett makes time for his hobbies and passions. He has a thirst for adventure and is always looking for new and exciting experiences. In his free time, Gerrett enjoys hunting, his motorcycle, puzzles, traveling, and giving thoughtful presents/surprises.
ABOUT JACKIE BY GERRETT
Jackie is loyal, driven, intellectual, and emphatic. She can be very serious yet break into a goofy dance at any moment. I love that about her. She’s never met a challenge she couldn’t overcome. I see Jackie being a mom who is understanding, communicative, protective, and fun, who shares her love of learning and literature with our child and helps our child work through difficult problems.
Jackie is a lawyer who is dedicated to her profession and loves her career. In her free time, Jackie loves listening to audio books, attending sporting events, and supporting her community (friends and loved ones). Jackie loves celebrating holidays, and her favorite holiday is Halloween. She is also committed to helping animals – she has rescued four pets and regularly volunteers for a local dog rescue in Seattle.
ABOUT CARSON
Carson is 22 years old and lives and works in our hometown of Fort Wayne, Indiana. Gerrett adopted Carson when Carson was a teenager, although Gerrett has been in Carson’s life as his step-dad since Carson was 2! Carson is loving and laid-back but also fun and competitive with video games and sports. Carson loves cheering for the Tennessee Titans, playing flag football, and comic book super heroes, specifically Batman. Carson is also studying and training to be a pilot.
OUR HOME
We love living in Washington state - it is so beautiful here.
We live in a small community just north of Seattle that is nestled on the water and has its own ferry terminal. Our house is in a quiet neighborhood with walkable sidewalks and tree lined streets. While at home, we love cooking, hosting friends and family, reading, playing board games, and watching football and hockey games while snuggling with our pets. We currently have 2 dogs, Larry and Chara, and our cat, Jon Snow. We love fostering dogs so there may be a few more from time to time. Our animals bring us so much joy!
We are often on the go on the weekends exploring the beautiful outdoors - hiking, camping, and taking the ferry to the San Juan Islands. On a rainy day, we like playing Mahjong with friends. We also volunteer in our community – Gerrett coaches flag football at the local YMCA, and Jackie volunteers with a local pet rescue.
HOBBIES AND INTERESTS
Sporting Events - We love attending sporting events and are season ticket holders for the Seattle Sounders.
Travel - Travel is a big part of Gerrett and Jackie’s life, and we love experiencing new destinations both near and far. Our favorite vacation was to Paris, France, and our dream vacation would be to visit Japan and Thailand.
We love halloween! - We love celebrating Halloween and all things spooky season. We decorate both the inside and outside of our home, host parties, visit pumpkin patches, dress up in costumes, and give out special treats for trick or treating. We cannot wait to dress our baby up as a pumpkin! Halloween is such a fun holiday and is also the start of the holiday season, which is a time for love, celebration, family, and friends.
OUR FAMILY
We have an amazing support system of family and friends located throughout the country. Our families are based in Indiana but love visiting us in Washington, and we return home frequently to Indiana.
We have 6 nieces/nephews and are very close to all of them! Both of our families love family gatherings and spending time together.
Jackie’s side of the family is loving, driven, and excitable. They love celebrating Halloween, watching funny t.v. shows, and annual trips to Walt Disney World in Florida. Our baby will call Jackie’s parents Papaw and Grandma. Gerrett’s side of the family is easy-going, fun, and hardworking. They love superhero (DC/Marvel) movies, outdoor adventures, and cheering for the Tennessee Titans. Our baby will call Gerrett’s parents Grandpa and Grandma.
