We are a warm and loving family, and are eager to welcome another child into our lives.

We can imagine the decision you are making is difficult and we thank you for taking the time to get to know us. We hope that through this journey we are able to provide some level of comfort and peace of mind.
As a lesbian couple, we always knew we would build our family through different avenues. We welcomed our daughter Finley through IVF, but have always felt drawn to adoption and know that it is the next step for us. We are both former special education teachers, and we have a deep love for children.
ABOUT US
We live in West Palm Beach, Florida with our daughter, Finley, and our two small dogs, Reagan and Morgan.
We enjoy spending time with our family and friends. We both deeply respect each other’s passion and commitment to making the world a better place, Kate through continuing to work in education and Gemma through her work as a lawyer.
We go to the beach often and enjoy being outside! We love traveling and exploring new places, and look forward to sharing adventures with all of our children. We will support them and encourage them in whatever they decide they want to be and whatever they want to do – we promise to provide a loving and stable foundation from which they can grow.
Meet Our Daughter Finley
Finley is our sweet and happy 1 year old. Kate carried Finley who was conceived through IVF.
We chose an “open donor” because we want Finley to be able to have the option to contact him when she is older - we firmly believe in openness and that the more family the better. She loves to read books, play “fetch” with our dog, Reagan, and go on walks outside. She loves nature and our weekly visits to the beach. Finley also loves sharing toys with her cousin, Benny, who is 3 years old. We both have siblings we are close with, and know how important they can be in a person’s life. We know she is going to be a great big sister!
OUR HOME
IN WEST PALM BEACH, FLORIDA
We spend most of our time as a family in our playroom, but also enjoy spending time in our backyard grilling with friends.
We have wonderful neighbors and enjoy annual Christmas parties and monthly neighborhood gatherings. There are many young children in the neighborhood and we enjoy regular get togethers with other families.
We live about 8 blocks from the ocean and about one mile from our favorite beach. We love going to the beach and go almost every weekend!
MEET OUR PETS
We currently have two dogs, Morgan and Reagan.
We love dogs! Gemma volunteers with animal rescue groups, and we believe teaching children to care for animals and things that are smaller than we are is important. Finley loves to play “fetch” with them. We hope to always have dogs in our home as they bring so much joy!
OUR FAMILY
We are both close with our families.
Kate’s extended family still lives in Oxford, Ohio, the town where she grew up. Fortunately, her mom and dad fly down for a visit almost once a month. Finley loves her Nana and Grandpa! Growing up, Kate’s family spent several weeks every summer at a lake house enjoying time together, digging up crawdads and fishing off the pier. We hope to follow that same tradition with our family.
Gemma’s parents all live in Florida, with her dad and his wife only about 5 miles away. Granddad can’t wait to make the grand kids pancakes on the weekends like he did for Gemma and her brother growing up. Gemma’s mom lives in St. Petersburg, and her brother, Joseph, who is in the Coast Guard, lives in Louisiana. Gemma’s brother is excited for another niece or nephew to take camping, kayaking and snorkeling! Gemma also has two stepchildren from a previous marriage, one of whom lives in West Palm and is our nanny. We love Victoria, and her son, Benny who is three. They often join us at the beach on the weekends and for dinner during the week – the more the merrier!
