We moved to the suburbs from the city two years ago so we would have plenty of space for a big family.
We picked our specific town because of the wonderful schools and the safe and supportive community.
We have struggled with fertility since we got married and we knew early on that adoption would be part of our journey. While our path to parenthood has been different than expected, we have never given up on the big, messy Thanksgiving table. It has been our dream since we met. We are hoping to have an open adoption, and that one day, in time, you may want to sit at that table with us!
ABOUT US
We met in Chicago in 2014 through a dating website.
Our first date was at two coffee shops because, before we knew it, the first one closed and we had to move to a second.
There were many things we talked about that night, including how much Jason admired his grandparent’s 50 year marriage, Jason’s affinity for Rubik’s cubes and Christi’s love of green beans. At the end of the date, Jason gave me a Rubik’s cube and there’s a really great story we’d love to tell you one day about how Jason proposed in a can of green beans. Ask us about it!
We have had a lot of wonderful experiences together, but what really connects us is our shared values as a couple and as parents.
OUR HOME AND FAMILIES
We absolutely love living in the Chicago area. It is a safe, family-friendly community that's perfect for raising kids and close to so many fun activities!
Some of the important people in our child’s life are Christi’s mom, “Gama”, Jason’s dad, “Papa”, and her honorary aunts, Traci, Diana and Laura.
Gama is always up for fun and games and Papa is super adventurous. They are both wonderful and very dedicated grandparents. Traci, Diana and Laura are Christi’s best friends and they have always had a very special relationship with Zelda. They are all super excited to welcome a new child to the family.
Because neither of us have siblings we’re close with, we view “family” as a fluid concept that can include anyone It’s all about who we choose to spend our time with and less about blood relation. Something that is very important to us is that big, messy Thanksgiving table and we know we have to be the ones to create it with all those we love.
