Hi! We’re Ariel and Phil

We’re hoping to adopt!

Learn more about us by downloading and reading our adoption profile book.

We live in a city just north of Seattle with our daughter, Adalynn!

We have considered adoption since our second date!

We both have always felt we have a lot to give to our “future” children, and what matters most is love over shared genetics when raising a child. It was never important to either of us to have our own “genetic” children. As parents, we put a lot of effort into raising our child which gives us immense joy.

Our daughter, Adalynn (7) can’t wait to become a big sister and we know she is up for the role. Each day we chose to spend our time together as a family - we hang out, talk, read and take the dogs on walks. We would like an open adoption because we want the baby to have family ties and connection to their roots. Thanks so much for getting to know us more.

 ABOUT US

we met the old fashioned way…

…on MySpace in 2006. If you are too young to remember MySpace, it was Facebook before Facebook... haha... On our first date, we spent hours talking and walking around our neighborhood. What struck Ariel was how kind and considerate Phil was, and how he made her laugh. Ariel also liked how much Phil knew about art, which was a bonus! Phil was intrigued about Ariel’s spirituality and silliness and ability to start up a conversation with anyone!

As parents, our promise to you is that we will provide a loving, safe home with fun filled moments together; support and dedication to their education—being an educator mom; support of their physical and mental well-being, support through college and/or technical training; connection with their ancestral culture and values; and lifelong loving support and acceptance.

OUR HOME

We live just north of Seattle, Washington.

Our home is a two-story townhome in a small tight knit community. We have an open floor plan which we love. There is a nice little front side garden for gardening and a backyard that the dogs play in. Our neighborhood has a park for kids, a big lawn for kids and dogs to run around and a basketball court. Kids are always playing outside. It is a diverse community, which is important to us. We walk our dogs around our little neighborhood every day and enjoy our neighbors’ gardens and holiday decorations. We live three blocks from the YMCA which has swimming and other classes for kids that we enjoy.  Our neighborhood schools are top in the district- rated in the 9s and 10s. Adalynn loves her teachers at her school.

We love that we are close to the beaches, downtown Seattle, the mall, and several parks. We have lakes that we enjoy swimming at in the summer. We like to eat out and have our favorite local restaurants nearby—one of them is Todo Mexico which has Mexican food from each state in Mexico. We love our community!

OUR FAMILIES

Phil is from Los Angeles, California originally. Phil has four brothers, one sister, and several nieces and nephews. We love to call and video chat or chat on the phone regularly with everyone. When we visit Los Angeles, we love to go to Disneyland with our family—cousins, siblings, aunts and uncles (tios and tias). We generally go during Phil or Adalynn’s birthday and try to always have big family barbecues, complete with pinatas! Adalynn has so many cousins, that we get to enjoy large parties and gatherings together. Phil is especially close to all his siblings, which is great. His parents both passed away, but we continue to celebrate their lives on their birthdays as well as on Dia De Los Muertos. Phil loves to make tamales every year for his family and in-laws.

Ariel has family that is local in Washington. She has one older sister and one older brother. Her sister, Aunt Alsia, has one adult child and is married to her college sweetheart, Eric. They are a loving family who has been there in emergencies at a drop of a hat! Ariel’s brother, Uncle Elias, is married to Hitomi. They have two young boys who love to play with Adalynn. We get together for playdates, park dates and hang outs with them. They are Adalynn’s godparents, and enjoy spending time with her. Our family is supportive of adoption and your baby will brought into the family and loved unconditionally. We love celebrating the holidays and often spend entire months of the year enjoying them with parties, events, decorations and outings!

 IN CLOSING

We will support the child regardless of who they love, identify as or choose to be on their path.

We will provide support so that they can feel free to be themselves as safe, happy and successful human beings. We want to provide them with a loving connection to their birth family, so they may know the love of their biological family. We uphold values of kindness, compassion and doing good in our home. Our children will have access to religions and philosophies that celebrate unity in diversity and encourage them to love themselves and their neighbors.
