We’re hoping to adopt!

Thank you for taking the time to get to know us.

4 yr anniversary dinner. Angie had the giggles. Jason ordered 2 deserts which were huge. He has quite the sweet tooth..jpg

We have always wanted to be parents but fertility challenges have impacted our ability. We hope that through adoption our dreams will become a reality.

Family and friends are most important to us. We can’t wait to share in all the special little moments with a child - family meals, playing sports, and holidays. Both of us were athletes as kids and are excited to share in these experiences with a child. We look forward to seeing life through a child’s eyes and sharing the milestones with you along the way.

 ABOUT US

We met on the dating site eHarmony.

Angie had decided that she would go on one more date before taking a break from dating. That one more date was Jason! While getting to know one another, we spent a lot of time talking and preparing meals for each other. We knew pretty quickly that we had something special. We shared a lot in common - a  love for our pets, staying active and closeness with our families. We love going to the Kansas City Royals baseball games and even got to attend one of the games during the World Series in 2015 - a definite highlight of our dating years.

Our wedding was intimate ~ just our immediate family. Together, we’ve been able to explore new places through traveling and we are looking forward to more adventures in the future with our child.

A SPECIAL NOTE FROM ANGIE

Eleven years ago, I had a daughter, Samantha. Samantha passed away just before turning 15 months old due to a rare medical condition, Spinal Muscular Atrophy. As Samantha’s mom, I have learned a lot about life, death, happiness, grief, gratitude, and never-ending love. My experiences have made me the person I am today. I have learned to celebrate the smallest of achievements and to take nothing for granted.

OUR HOME

We have both called Kansas City home for many years. We recently moved into a new home with the hopes of growing our family! Our neighborhood is family-oriented with a community pool, walking trails and fishing ponds. There are many neighbors with young kiddos around.

Our home is an open concept and we just love it. The kitchen, living and dining area is one big room which is great when family and friends visit! We enjoy having a deck and yard space where we can enjoy many months of the year. From our deck, we can see the walking trail and ponds. We’ve seen cranes, turtles, fish, fox and deer! We have quick and easy access to area bike trails and lakes which is great for additional recreation and family fun.

Our family includes our two dogs- June (German Shepherd) and Bradly (Rhodesia Ridgeback mix) June loves a good game of fetch. Bradly loves to have his belly rubbed. We enjoy daily walks around the neighborhood and imagine adding a stroller in the mix, Bradly even goes on runs with Angie.

OUR FAMILY

Our family and friends are supportive of our decision to adopt and could not be more excited and happy for us. Four of our cousins joined our family through adoption, so this is nothing new for our family!

Grandpa and Grandma C, Grandpa and Grandma P, Uncle David and Aunts Katherine, Melanie and Megan are so excited for a new addition to the family!

The time we spend with family often centers around food! Whether it’s the family pancake recipe or steaks on the grill, sharing fun around a meal is how we gather. In the summer, we gather to make home-made salsa with homegrown vegetables. Everyone has a role in the assembly line and we get the creative juices going with naming each new batch! Some of the fun names we’ve used are: Gordo, Di’s Bite, Secret Spice, and Last Chance.

We gather several times a year with extended family for holidays and reunions. At Christmas time, at least one of our meals includes several different kinds of soup with homemade bread. The laughing continues with games of Yahtzee, Skipbo, or Farkle.
