We’re so honored to share a glimpse of our lives with you. Our hope is that this book gives you a heartfelt picture of the kind of home we would offer your child—one filled with unconditional love, support, laughter, and opportunity.
Adoption has been in our hearts for a long time. We tried infertility treatments in order to grow our family, but have always considered adoption, as we believe family is chosen and goes beyond genetics and blood. We are beyond ready and excited to become parents, and to raise a child with empathy, joy, and respect. We promise to cherish your child completely and support them in becoming fully themselves.
We deeply value the role you play in your child’s story and are open to the level of contact that feels right for you. We will always be open and honest with your child about their origin and story, and we hope you will want to be part of it in one way or another. We hope that as you turn these pages, you will get a true sense of who we are and how much love we have to give.

¡Hola! Somos Ángela y Juan.
Nos sentimos felices de compartir un poco de nuestra vida contigo. Esperamos darte una idea del tipo de hogar que le ofreceríamos a tu bebe, lleno de amor incondicional, apoyo, risas y oportunidades.
La adopción ha estado en nuestros corazones durante mucho tiempo. Hemos probado tratamientos de infertilidad para hacer crecer nuestra familia, pero siempre hemos considerado la adopción ya que creemos que la familia se elige: va más allá de la genética y la sangre. Estamos más que listos y emocionados de poder convertirnos en padres y criar un niño/a con empatía, alegría y respeto. Prometemos amar a tu bebe intensamente y apoyarlo para que pueda encontrar las mejores oportunidades.
Valoramos profundamente el papel que tu desempeñarás en la historia de este bebé y estamos dispuestos a tener el nivel de contacto con el que tú te sientas bien. Incluso si esto cambia con el tiempo.
Siempre seremos abiertos y honestos con el niño/a sobre su origen e historia, y respetaremos la forma en que quieras ser parte de ella. Con este libro esperamos te hagas una idea de quiénes somos y cuánto amor tenemos para dar.

We met in 2003, when we both started college and connected over our shared love for math. We first built a friendship, but by 2007 we officially became a couple. We’ve now been married 14 years, lived in 2 countries and 3 states, and love each more than ever. Juan loves to joke, and a running joke between us- when Angela “messes up” Juan’s careful dishwasher routine, he likes to say “a raccoon visited us again and destroyed everything”. It’s a small thing, but it makes us both laugh— it’s one of those everyday moments showing our partnership, and how well we know and love each other.

Nuestra Historia
Nos conocimos en 2003 cuando ambos comenzábamos la universidad y nos conectó nuestro interés por las matemáticas. Primero fuimos amigos y en 2007 nos convertimos oficialmente en pareja; hemos estado casados 14 años, y hemos vivido en 2 países y 3 estados de USA, y hoy nos amamos más que nunca. Una broma recurrente entre nosotros: cuando Ángela “arruina” la cuidadosa rutina del lavavajillas de Juan, Juan dice que “un mapache nos visitó y destruyó todo” … Ángela simplemente responde “el mapache te extraña”. Es una cosa pequeña pero que nos hace reír a los dos, uno de esos momentos cotidianos que muestran nuestra conexión y lo mucho que nos conocemos y amamos.
Our Story

We live in a cozy, light-filled two-bedroom condo in Washington, D.C. Our home is full of meaningful touches—photos of family and friends, and art we’ve collected from our travels. It’s a space that feels calm, welcoming, and ready to grow with a child. We’re lucky to live near beautiful urban trails that run along the Anacostia River and a few national parks—perfect for long walks with our dog Penny, stopping for ice cream on a hot day or coffee on a cold one.
Our neighborhood is full of life and community events. Just a short walk away are The Yards and Nationals Park, where we often enjoy baseball games, outdoor concerts, and seasonal activities like holiday markets and light displays. It’s a vibrant, walkable area that’s both family- and pet-friendly—and we can’t wait to share it all with a little one.
We have a lot of friends from different cultures and walks of life, and love to travel and experience new places and people. We’ve grown to embrace all seasons here in the US, from the spring Cherry Blossom festival in DC, the summer pool days, the autumn brown leaves in the Shenandoah national park and the winter Christmas decorations and vibes. Our kid for sure will have tons of fun and adventures, while learning about the world with us.

Nuestra Casa
Vivimos en un acogedor y luminoso condominio de dos dormitorios en Washington DC. Nuestra casa está llena de detalles significativos: fotos de familiares y amigos y arte que hemos coleccionado de nuestros viajes. Es un espacio que se siente tranquilo, acogedor y listo para recibir con un niño/a. Tenemos la suerte de vivir cerca de hermosos senderos urbanos que corren a lo largo del río Anacostia y algunos parques nacionales, perfectos para largas caminatas con nuestra perrita Penny, detenerse a tomar un helado en un día caluroso o a tomar un café.
Nuestro vecindario está lleno de vida y comunidad. The Yards y Nationals Park son sitios donde a menudo disfrutamos de juegos de béisbol, conciertos al aire libre y actividades de temporada como mercados navideños y exhibiciones de luces. Es un área vibrante y transitable, llena de familias y mascotas, y estamos ansiosos por compartirlo todo con nuestro pequeño/a.
Tenemos muchos amigos de diferentes culturas y estilos de vida, y nos encanta viajar y experimentar nuevos lugares y culturas. Hemos aprendido a apreciar todas las estaciones aquí en los EE. UU., desde el festival de los cerezos en flor de primavera en DC, los días de piscina de verano, las hojas de colores en otoño en el parque nacional Shenandoah y las decoraciones y actividades navideñas de invierno. Seguro que nuestro hijo se divertirá muchísimo y vivirá muchas aventuras mientras aprende sobre el mundo con nosotros.

Si nos eliges, tienes que saber que tu bebé crecerá en un hogar lleno de amor, risas y apoyo permanente. Vamos a estar atentos para escucharlo y amarlo tal como sea. El bebé estará rodeado de personas que lo animarán y le recordarán todos los días cuán amado es.
Siempre honraremos y respetaremos el papel fundamental que como mamá (o papá) biológica representas. No importa como sea el futuro, queremos que el bebé crezca sabiendo de dónde viene y lo amado que es por todos, incluyéndote a ti.
