Hi, I am Andrea.
Thanks for taking time to get to know more about me.
Learn more about me by downloading and reading my adoption profile book.
I am a single woman who loves her family and friends and is fiercely loyal.
Years ago, I thought a family would come naturally, but later learned I was not a good candidate for having children of my own. That did not change my desire to have a family. I look forward to helping a child discover the world around them including helping them learn what they like and even what they don’t like. Everyday, I will be in their corner cheering them on and protecting them.
ABOUT ME
I joke that I am a true Gemini, I have two sides.
I can be both nurturing and nerdy and on the other side I am very tough. I have worked hard to build a career as an environmental scientist. I am strong, resilient and independent, all which I learned during my 20 years in the military.
I love adventure, travel and the outdoors. but also love a good shopping day, especially if it involves a shoe sale! I cannot wait to have adventures both small and large with a child. There are many national parks and cities that I still have left to explore and I can't wait to take a little one with me.
MY LOVED ONES
Healthy competition and humor - these are two things that we are never short on in my family.
Someone always has a joke to share, and from board games to sports there is always something happening. My family is very involved and my nieces and nephew often have the biggest cheering sections at their sporting games, concerts or art shows.
On the holidays, I am the one organizing and planning the meals and cooking with my younger brother. While I do spend some holidays in Ohio, for Thanksgiving my family all comes here. The whole weekend is about food and being together with some football games sprinkled in. It is my favorite holiday because the focus is on spending time together.
MY HOME
I live in Chicago in a great neighborhood, close to parks, the beach and schools. The tight knit community is diverse and welcoming.
I was looking for a place in a neighborhood outside of downtown. I fell in love with the tree lined streets here, and the fact that my building looks a little like a castle! I spend a lot of time in the front yard with my dog Mac, who likes to nap in the grass while I take care of the flower garden.
I live on a quiet cul-de-sac with a park at the end. This tree lined park is the center of the community that has so many places to play. Families and neighbors spend time there while kids explore, garden, and cover the sidewalk with chalk art. Then from spring to fall, the park has a weekly farmer’s market.
Inside my home, there is a lot of room to play, and a big bay window that fills my living room with sunlight and gives my cats plenty of birds and squirrels to watch. In the kid's room, it is bright and colorful and has a fun animal theme.
In the next few years, I plan on finding a house with room to host more of my family at the same time, and with a big backyard for playing and dog chasing.

THANK YOU
thank you for taking the time to get to know a little more about me.
If you select me, know that I will love and support your child unconditionally. I will be cheering for them from the sidelines or in the audience. They will be my whole world. I will play games with them, read to them, and as they grow I promise to listen and guide them. I would love for them to know you and your family, and am interested in an open adoption if that's also what you're hoping for.
