Hi! We’re Amy and michael

We’re hoping to adopt!

Learn more about us by downloading and reading our adoption profile book.

We are very blessed with what we have; however, our lives feel incomplete without a child to share it with. While we have had struggles with starting our own family, adoption has always been part of our conversation.

Thank you for taking the time to get to know us and our family. While we cannot imagine what you are going through, please know that our hearts are full of love, and will be with you every step of the way. It is evident how courageous you are and how full of love your heart is, and we hope that we will get the opportunity to get to know you better. You know what is best for your baby, and we pray that we are all you have dreamed of for your child.

ONE IS SPICY, ONE IS SWEET, ONE IS A FLUFFY, SMILING, SOCK THIEF

OUR LOVE STORY

We met in 2014 and got married exactly three years to the day we met, even though it was a Monday. We both wanted a small ceremony surrounded by those we love, so that is what we did. It was a beautiful 80° Chicago summer day. We were able to have our reception dinner outside and interact with every single guest. We think the personal connections we were able to have with our family and friends is what made the day even more special. We are both sentimental when it comes to important events in our lives and always try to make our anniversary special, and we even named our dog after the place we met. We love to eat, travel, and explore new places, from trying the longest zipline in California, to eating local food and cliff jumping into cenotes in Mexico. While we love to try new things, there is a cabin in Michigan we continue to go back to. Spending time in nature, hiking trails with our dog, and lazy nights roasting marshmallows around a fire centers us. We cannot wait to continue these traditions with our expanding family.

“We believe that love is what makes a family, and the more love that surrounds a child the better.”

OUR HOME AND FAMILIES

We live just outside of Chicago, Illinois

We moved into our house in August of 2021, hopeful to grow our family in our forever home. While we love our house, what really “sold” us on the property was the community. Honestly, it is kind of magical. We live in a small community within a larger town. It is 100% family-centered and completely unique. At the center of the neighborhood, across the street from us, is a lake. The neighborhood puts together all sorts of fun lake activities: fishing derbies, motorless boating, campouts on the lake, and more. Fences are not allowed, and it is wonderful to hear all the neighborhood children running from yard to yard to play. We love hearing all the laughter and squeals on a summer day.

Family is very important to us, and we both come from loving families. Amy’s parents live nearby and we see them at least once a week to have dinner, go to a fest, or listen to live music. Amy’s dad is a retired firefighter and is very handy, so he and other firemen frequently help us with projects around our house. Growing up in a firefighter family is like growing up with 40 uncles—it’s great! Michael’s parents and sister’s family live in Alabama, where he was raised. Michael’s parents are both retired and had worked for the University of Alabama. We see them a few times a year, but talk to them frequently.

Daley is our four-year-old rescue dog, who we lovingly nicknamed Bear due to his impressive snuggle-bear capabilities. He loves outdoor adventures, is truly the sweetest dog we have ever met, and is always smiling, yes—smiling. He loves playing ball in the summer and frisbee in the snow.
