We admire your strength and are so grateful that you have chosen the path of adoption. We hope to have an opportunity to meet you and go farther through this journey together.

We live in central Illinois in a neighborhood full of children. While our house is in the middle of town and walking distance to a lot of fun activities, we have a creek full of wildlife behind us that is relaxing to watch when we’re just hanging around the yard. We also have a large circle of friends and family in town that can’t wait to help us welcome and love your child.

It is so important to us that you know how much love we have to offer, and that we will provide for your child a community of care and support. We can’t wait to share our love of travel, music and sports (if they like the right team) with your child and provide them with all of the love we have been waiting for years to give.

For over 4 years we have struggled to get pregnant and have suffered several miscarriages. While it has been challenging, its proven that we can work through anything and that we are a good team. It has also taught us to not take family for granted and someday when we are parents, to appreciate every moment because without adoption, we may never have had those moments.

 ABOUT US

we met through a mutual friend that invited adam to my birthday party.

After the first few times of meeting, Adam asked me on a date, so we went to a new Irish pub and it was amazing how much fun we had getting to know each other, sharing funny stories and just laughing. We feel so lucky to have found each other and can honestly say we have just as much fun together now as we did when we met.

After ten years together, we still find little ways to show our appreciation or surprise one another. One of the biggest surprises of my life was the night we got engaged. Adam asked if I wanted to go with friends to see a live band for New Years Eve. That sounded like a great way to ring in the new year so we went with about 30 friends to a local venue and at 11PM the band started playing my favorite song. I looked up and was so confused when I saw Adam on stage with a microphone in hand, but was ushered up by friends and to my shock, he proposed in front of over 100 people! It was such an exciting start to a lifelong relationship full of fun moments.

“To us, family and life experiences are what’s most important, as well as animals… or we wouldn’t be mentioning two of or our favorite things, our dogs, Meeko & Penny!”

OUR HOME

We live in a city in central Illinois full of fun family activities!

Our community is a nice balance between big city life and a small farm town and has so much to offer from our zoo to the children’s museum. Some of the things we enjoy doing in our free time is go hiking at the nearby state park, enjoy street festivals and the farmers market in our downtowns square, and attend a minor league baseball game here in town!

A lot of our time is spent just hanging out with friends and their children at someone’s house. We love getting together to see each other regularly and watching their kids play makes us even more excited to give our children that kind of group to be apart of.

We also really enjoy just staying home and relaxing sometimes. We play games, have friends and family over to grill and spend a lot of time gardening and playing fetch with our dog. We absolutely love being outside and really enjoy living somewhere with all the seasons. We have white Christmases, summers in the pool and everything in between.

OUR FAMILY

Family is incredibly important to us and we are lucky most of ours is nearby.

We get together with Adam’s family several times a month for pool days, dinner or just to visit and play games. Adam’s parents still live in the same home for more than 40 years and it is an amazing place to spend time as a family. Adam’s sister lives 10 minutes away so we often take our nephews to sporting events in town or just to our house to play drums and guitar and have a sleepover…Adam has this crazy dream of having a family band.  Our favorite family tradition is spending time with Adam’s family on Christmas Eve. It’s usually around 25 people, we make entirely too much food, play tons of group board games and belly laugh for hours. One year, we even had a Santa Claus show up and Amanda was just as excited as all the little kids.

Amanda’s mom and stepdad live less than an hour away and her house is a child and animal lovers dream. They have chickens, dogs, a tortoise and a ton of other animals to play with. We love to go over there and enjoy the small town vibes and hang around the kitchen cooking together. Amanda’s dad retired early, packed up and moved to Florida 5 years ago and now only lives a few hours from her sister. We love visiting and it gives us an excuse to take long weekends and unwind. We always do fun things like camp out, jet ski and deep sea fish when we go down. Amanda’s dad is the life of the party, we’ve even gone on trips with him and it’s been a great time.

Both of our families have been so supportive of our journey and truly can’t wait to have a baby to love and spoil. Our family provides us with support, A LOT of laughter and silliness, but the thing they give the most is love, and we can’t express how excited they are to be able to add another child to the fun.
